Harvy's Escape "The Rock"!!!

Upfront apology - today's post doesn't include photo's, we are having a technical difficulty loading photo's but hope to fix soon.

Well Mary the Harvy's are now converted to baseball (even Sonia LOL). Yesterday we made it to McAfee Coliseum, home ground for the Oakland A's, via the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit rail system). A's were playing last seasons World Series Champions the Boston Red Sox, game attracted 21,000 people on a week day, and Boston won 5-0. For those interested I have included a game summary here We didn't catch any fly balls so we bought one in the merchandise shop.

Squeezed in some more shopping on the way home, this time we dropped in to the Levi's shop, Niketown, Louis Vuitton and Old Navy. Caught the tram back to the Wharf and decided to sample McDonalds from the people who invented it - family are split on whether it is as good as home - kids say it is as good as and cheaper, I thought it was similar (I had the $1 double cheesburger!), Sonia thought it was crap.

Today we visited some famous San Francisco attractions, the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz ("the rock"). They really are attractive landmarks, you see them wherever you go. Alcatraz tour was very interesting and is a must do (thks again Mary). Also went to Ghirardelli Square and had some of their famous ice cream.

Tonight is our last night in San Francisco and we would have to say that our stay has been a 10/10, great place, great people, good shopping, very friendly and safe, great public transport, good hotel - all in all no complaints, would recommend San Francisco to anyone coming over to US. In fact we found it to be very similar to Melbourne.

Jenni - thanks for the Melbourne weather update, sorry to hear about your back fence but glad your roof survived, hopefully our place is still standing when we get home.

Susi - pls stop spoiling our dog or she is not going to want to come home.

Flying out to Cancun tomorrow morning and looking forward to the warmer weather so we can work on our tans.

Will hopefully be able to load some more San Fran photo's when we get there.

Anyway thats all for now

adiós amigos

San Fran sounds pretty cool! I would love to see Alcatraz, but then, I'm into that kind of thing!

Look forward to the Mexico wrap!

isn't baseball grand?!? at it's finest, on a nice summer day in the sun with a cold beer - ah, heaven!

And Alcatraz, well, just the opposite isn't it???

be safe - can't wait to see pictures!

Hi Harvy clan - Scotty checkin' in for a read and an update on what's going on in the US of A. Very envious... Steve/Brando - Update here on the AFL as follows - Blues get rolled by Bombers BUT Fev (8 goals) and the Juddernaut (countless possessions and 2 goals) dominate in a goalfest of a game! Sonia/Sammy - both of you are holding up extremely well under the stress of being with Steve 24/7 - a good excuse to reward yourselves when shopping! Take care :-)
